    How to Deal with Difficult People (previously Interpersonal Conflict Resolution)

    Workshop Description:

    Dealing with difficult people, conflict and workplace stress negatively affect 55 per cent of working Canadians. This introductory course gives you the tools to transform conflict into a springboard for positive change at work and beyond. Participants learn basic concepts and skills to deal with conflict in healthy ways. This course is an essential professional development tool for managers, team leaders and front-line staff. Dealing with Difficult People is a prerequisite for many other workshops at Resolution Skills Centre.

    Who Should Attend:

    This introductory workshop is intended for all participants who want to better understand and address the interpersonal dynamics and conflict they experience in workplace, community and other settings.

    Objectives:

    Participants attending this workshop will:

    · Assess real-life interpersonal conflict, analyze it, and understand its dynamics.

    · Explore their individual style of responding to conflict and consider how their style is impacting their conflicts.

    · Learn specific and practical communication skills to use in conflict situations.

    · Increase their ability to effectively engage others to work together to resolve conflicts.

    · Learn and practice applying three models for resolving conflict. These models will enable participants to constructively and effectively share their perspectives, engage others in doing the same, and to find collaborative solutions to conflict.
